About Kanata West

The major new employment node in Ottawa’s west end.

In response to the extensive demand for land, housing and office space created by the last high tech boom in Ottawa, over 1500 acres of land was earmarked to satisfy growing demand for housing and jobs in the west end; that area is now a fully-zoned development called Kanata West Business Park. The site is over 140 acres in area, capable of housing over 2 million square feet of traditional commercial development. Kanata West is adjacent to the newly-expanded 8-lane Highway 417 at a major cloverleaf off ramp at Palladium Drive with easy truck access. The site is located close to abundant housing types and price ranges with many neighboring amenities including schools, shopping (Kanata Centrum and Tanger Outlets) restaurants, and directly across from the Canadian Tire Centre. Kanata West is only 15 minutes West of downtown Ottawa. Public Transit exists to the site today, future expansion of the transitway to and from the Scotiabank Place is planned, and new roads will be completed by mid summer of 2016. Upon completion, Kanata West Business Park will be the major new employment node in Ottawa’s west end; home to a mix of commercial business types, including retail, office, high technology manufacturing, hospitality, open space and more.
